A perfectly timed prank call

Yesterday, I spontaneously decided to pull a prank on my friend Kim. It mostly stemmed from me being bored and also knowing that I had the number to her office phone. So with barely any premeditated thought, I decided to call her and just see where it goes.

When she answered, I explained that I work for 1-800-FLOWERS (that's a flower company, right?) and that I had a delivery for her. After some fake confusion concerning my location, we made a plan to meet in our Student Union which is right outside of where she works. So far so good at this point. Somehow she believed me through my stumbling and rambling story.

So at this point, I explain to the people around me that she is on board with the plan and believed everything I said. However, I'm not really sure where to go from here. It was then that an angel walked into the building. The reason I call my friend an angel is because she happened to walk in right at my point of uncertainty CARRYING A VASE OF FLOWERS! (The fact that she also happens to be the identical twin sister of my girlfriend might have factored in to the angel thing also).

So as you can imagine, I'm pretty excited at this point, I run over to Madi and quickly tell her what I had just done to Kim (who happens to be her roommate). She happily hands over the flowers and at that point the prank almost felt too easy. How does this happen? It'd be like if I wanted to go buy a lottery ticket but when I got in my car there was already millions of dollars there.

So now I'm just standing in the Union with a vase of flowers in my hand wondering what the heck to do next. While doing so, Kim happens to spot me from her office. I was a little surprised and not exactly sure what to do but I played it cool and gestured for her to come out here. She proceeds to explain the whole story of how someone mysteriously called her for a flower delivery and blah blah blah. After hearing enough from her side, I interrupt and explain to her that some guy was walking around the Union with these flowers earlier. He eventually came over to me and asked if I knew Kim Jeffers. I told him I did and that I would give them to you, so he left and here we are!
Kim and her flowers
Here is Kim with her flowers about as confused as I was in my first (and only) day in Calculus class. The next 10 minutes are spent explaining to Kim exactly what happened in the exchange between me and the 'delivery guy' and reiterating that they had to of come from a secret admirer. And when it was all said and done, Kim walked away with her brand new flowers feeling excited, slightly less confused, and without a clue of anything I had just done. I couldn't believe how well it worked.

Here is a tweet of her's a few hours later.
